This "vlog" post features Dustin on the job and Ethan (age 5) giving a high speed tour of work in progress. Note his delight when he discovers the pipe for the future toilet -- bathroom humour starts early...
Safety note, no children were present during actual work on site.
Video approx. 1 minute long.
Loved the movie of Ethan.
ReplyDeleteBeing a stay-at-home dad allows me to watch the work in progress and to discuss the plans with Bruce and the trades. What impresses me is the conscientious effort everyone puts into their work and the concern for schedules. I haven't noticed any shortcuts to save on time and costs. Rather, they are serious about doing quality work and keeping the homeowner happy. For example, during framing pressure treated wood is laid next to the concrete floor to avoid mould and mildew as moisture can condense between the wood and the cold concrete. I've seen other basement framing jobs where this is not done presumably because pressure treated wood costs a little more or there is a feeling that it's not important.
ReplyDeleteThe plan this week is to finish the framing, start the electrical work, do the heat ducting and install the tankless water heater. There should be a lot of activity this week!
We love the slo mo ending to your video!!!
ReplyDeletePS That was from Emma and Olivia!
